EARWIGS AT HOME?
Earwigs do not climb into your ears. They are not poisonous, and they do not bite humans. They are perfectly harmless to humans as they feed on vegetables and plant roots mostly. They prefer dark wet and moist areas. They typically range from 12-18mm in length. Their colour varies from pale brown with dark markings to uniform reddish-brown to black. Adult earwigs are about 1/4 inch in size.
WHAT DAMAGE DO THEY CAUSE?
Generally, earwigs do not cause any harm or damage inside the house. When disturbed, they produce a foul odour to protect themselves. However, they do damage various crops and foliage. Some species are known to be fond of seedling plants, soft fruits and flowers.
